  • Horizontal income refers to income streams that are diversified across different sources. This contrasts with active income, which is earned through direct effort and participation such as wages, salaries, and commissions.

    For example, if you have a full-time job, your salary is considered active income because you actively work for it. On the other hand, if you invest in rental properties, dividend stocks or own a business that runs without your daily involvement, the income from these sources is considered horizontal income. This type of income can provide financial stability and reduce dependency on a single income source.
